DEBIT CARD ALERT:

At West Milton State Bank our Visa® debit card is an easy way to pay for purchases and keep track of spending. With many convenient ATM locations and the ability to use your card wherever credit cards are accepted, West Milton State Bank cardholders can access their money anywhere!
Your debit card is...
Even Better Than a Regular ATM Card
You can use your Visa® debit card to pay for purchases at over 18 million merchant locations worldwide, including restaurants and department and convenience stores at home or abroad. The amount of each purchase will be deducted directly from your checking account.
Even Better Than Checks
Your Visa® debit card is faster and easier to use, because it lets you access your checking account without taking the time to write a check or bother with identification. Plus it eliminates the inconveniences of carrying a checkbook or running out of checks.
Even Better Than Cash
Using your Visa® debit card is more convenient than carrying lots of cash. And it makes keeping track of your money simpler, too, because every purchase you make is listed on your monthly bank statement.

“How does the Visa® debit card work?”
It works just like a regular Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card at ATMs: You use it with your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to get cash. At stores, restaurants, and other merchants, it works just like a check: you present the card to the cashier, sign the receipt, and your purchase will be deducted right from your checking account. And if you use your Visa® debit card to place a phone order, you just give your card number and expiration date to the order representative.
“When I shop, I follow the same steps as when I use the credit card, right?”
Right! Your Visa® debit card will be accepted by merchants just like any credit card. But it’s not a credit card, because purchases are deducted from your checking account–which means you don’t pay interest charges on the things you buy (unless you access an overdraft service).
“Will my Visa® debit card purchases show on my monthly checking statement?”
Yes. The amount, date, and the name of the place where you used it will all appear on your statement along with checks you write and ATM transactions. Having all of your transactions on one statement helps you keep better track of your spending.
“Can I use my Visa® debit card anywhere?”
You can use your Visa® debit card to get cash at ATMs with the Plus logo (on the back of your card) and also shop wherever you see the Visa logo.
“Can I still use my checks when I shop?”
That’s completely up to you. But once you see how much more convenient it is to shop with your Visa® debit card, you’ll probably use checks less and less.
“What if my
West Milton State Bank Visa® debit card is lost or stolen?”
If your card is lost or stolen, you can get your card replaced and limit the loss of money simply by reporting the loss or theft or any unauthorized transactions promptly.*
“How do I get a Visa® debit card?”
Just ask a Customer Service Specialist. We’ll take care of the rest.
